i tried to register but never received an activation email (to a gmail account)? do you only want selected testers for now or is there something wrong?

Sorry to hear your problem, the server might have had problems ?
There is no manual interaction, everyone can register and should receive a confirmation. The initial admin-confirmation has been removed abouth a month ago.

Can you try again, and register under a different name ?
