Hi,
I want to study how a biped will respond to changing wind patterns by altering its center of gravity to stay upright.
whats the best way to do this and are there videos of this sort of thing already been done?
I have searched youtube but came up empty.
thanks

Re: Wind Simulation with Biped
I don't have any experience in this field, but I would assume that you might start with a regular balancing controller (i.e balancing under the force of gravity) and extend it so that when calculating the center-of-pressure/zero-moment-point/etc., rather than projecting straight down (along the direction of gravity) you project along the direction of the sum of forces acting on the character (wind, gravity, etc.).
Of course, determining the force of wind is another problem.
Here's a balancing controller with some good references: http://graphics.cs.ucr.edu/papers/macch ... 09:mcb.pdf
